City SC hosted our recreational coaches, team managers and staff for our annual Appreciation Night at Tommy V’s Urban Kitchen in Carlsbad on Wednesday, November 29. As a 501c3 our club relies heavily on volunteer support and Appreciation Night is a tribute to the many people in our club and our community who volunteer their time to support our staff in our mission to ignite a lifelong passion for soccer in every player. This year’s event was an extra special one as it marks the 10 year anniversary of the merge of Carlsbad Lighting and Carlsbad Wave.

“It’s amazing to reflect on how much our club has grown over the past 10 years,” said City SC Technical Director Steve Cowell. “It would not have been possible without the continued support of our staff and 500+ volunteer rec coaches, team managers, board members, and the many other members of the community that believe in our vision for the club.”

“Appreciation Night is always a great opportunity to recognize the volunteers who put in a lot of hours over the course of the season to support our kids and our staff,” City SC President, Jim Barnhill, concluded. ” It was wonderful to see so many of you at Appreciation Night at Tommy V’s! It’s been another fantastic season, and we enjoyed celebrating it with all of you. Thank you again for all that you do! A special thanks to Councilwoman Melanie Burkholder who attended to show her support for youth sports within Carlsbad.”
