San Diego mens professional soccer team, San Diego Loyal SC, have announced their very first roster for their Loyal Select Academy team. With hundreds of top level youth players throughout the country to choose from, we are extremely proud to announce that five City SC players have made the roster.
Andres Topete (2003), Dylan Huy, Kevin Pena (2004) and Davi Santos, Parker Gamboa (2005), who all play in the MLS NEXT league with our City SC Boys Academy program, will undergo a hybrid training schedule, training normally with City SC and the once a week with SD Loyal. Loyal Select plans to practice and compete in its home matches at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center. The season will run parallel to SD Loyal’s season and play roughly 10 matches over that period.
City SC Boys Academy Director, Paul Ritchie, commented, “We are delighted that the players have been selected to represent SD Loyal in the upcoming USL Pro Academy season. It is a testament to their level of commitment and hard work that they have put in over these difficult months. We wish them good luck and continued success with their next steps of their development.”
