Coach Manny’s 2009 Pre-Academy and 2008 Academy boys traveled to Goiânia, Brazil, from April 12-21, 2019, for what was an unforgettable and amazing time!
The boys were immersed in the country’s culture and intense passion for soccer, which they experienced first-hand during the tournament. The physicality, creativeness, chants from different clubs, embracing goals and wins helped the boys break away from their shyness and they even started to get in on the celebration rituals. They created a Galaxy chant together on the fly, as well as learned Portuguese chants from Coach Vitor. The language barrier did not stray them away from interacting with others. Everyone was very welcoming and there where many cool photo ops!
Although no medals returned home on the plane, what the boys took home from the experience was much more important and will last a lifetime. Great stuff!
