National League Update – FINAL WEEKEND, VEGAS – DAY 3
MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to our girls U16 & U18 Elite teams who both won National League titles today and qualified for the National Championships this summer in Frisco, Texas.
Our U18 girls (pictured in white) clinched their fourth National League title today with a 2-0 win over Cal South rivals Legends. Goals from Hayley Mayne and Dani Baldwin were enough to keep the girl’s unblemished record in tact. This fourth title makes these young ladies the only team in USYS history to win four national titles.
Our U16s girls (pictured in black) played after our 18s and did not let the side down. They clinched their second National League title with a convincing 3-0 win over Albion Soccer Club. Goals from Jessica Wright, Emily Knepler and Kameryn Hoban excelled our girls to victory.
With the addition of these two National League titles, on top of the six we already have, LA Galaxy San Diego now hold the record of the most USYS National League titles won by any club, eight in total.
What an achievement! Well done ladies & coaches! You have done your club, your families and yourselves proud!

Our GU16 & GU18 Elite Teams both tied today in Vegas. The 16s tied 1-1 with Sparta United (UT) to give them a place in the National Championships and the 18s tied 0-0 with KHA (OH). For the 16s, Sierra Enge scored the tying goal with 10 mins to go, finding the net in a very calm manner. Our 18s dominated possession but simply could not find that breakthrough goal against a very organized KHA team. Please CLICK HERE to view highlights from our GU18 Elite Team.
Our U16 girls have now qualified for the National Championships this summer in Frisco, Texas. This will be their 3rd consecutive visit to the Championships. Our U18 girls require a tie from their last game (tomorrow, Sunday) to qualify. Regardless, both teams will be gunning for victory in their final games as this would mean National League titles for both teams.
C’mon ladies….bring it home!
National League Update – FINAL WEEKEND, VEGAS – DAY 1
Our GU16 & GU18 Elite Teams travelled to Las Vegas on Thursday for the final weekend of National League. Both teams are within touching distance of the league titles so it is a massive weekend for our girls!
Our U16 Elite girls overcame Cup Gold from Ohio today with a very exciting 3-2 win. The game was full of action and goals, with our girls taking the lead twice only to be pegged back again before a Tina Oddone volley in the final few seconds sealed the deal. Other goals were scored by Joci Panduro & Sierra Enge. Check out the video report below featuring the goals and interviews with Tina Oddone and Coach Carl Higham (3:13-4:50).
The U18 ladies also had a very tough opening game against a very impressive Tennessee SC team. Our girls found themselves 2-0 down but managed to somehow claw it back with goals from Miranda Hold and Kelsey Aaknes to tie the game 2-2 and keep the dream alive of becoming the only team in National League history to win 4 consecutive titles. A win tomorrow against Kings Hammer Academy from Ohio will be enough to seal the deal. Check out the below report from Top Drawer Soccer on our U18 girls:
