Coach Nick’s 2011 Boys | 2020 Presidents State Cup Finalists

The City SC Boys 2011 age group capped a brilliant year all round with Coach Nick’s team making it to the finals of Presidents State Cup and Coach Jake’s team making it to the finals of Governors State Cup. In fact, many of the age group teams went deep into their respective State Cup tournaments, which only furthers the success of the group as a whole.

“My 2011 boys are a joy to watch and playing beyond their years,” said a very proud Coach Nick (also the HOPD for the age group). “They have put in some really breathtaking performances. After winning the League, they continued their form into post season winning the Coronado and Albion Tournaments before this fantastic run in State Cup. We played some of the top teams in the country along the way and thoroughly deserved our place in the final. Unfortunately, we were out played by a very good TFA team who deserved the win, but I can confidently say we are currently one of the best 2011 teams in the country. It is a privilege coaching this group and their future is bright at City SC.”

Coach Nick continued, “I am extremely proud of the age group as a whole and working closely with coach Jake has created an extremely deep and talented player pool for the club.”

Speaking on his own team’s achievement, Coach Jake commented, ‘’It was a fantastic feat to reach the final. The team came up slightly short but, regardless, the boys demonstrated what an excellent team they are. They have huge potential and showed this throughout the season and in their State Cup run. Onwards and upwards for each individual and the group’.’

City SC Technical Director, Steve Cowell, summarized, “Having both our first and second teams make the State Cup finals in their respective divisions shows the quality and depth of the City Juniors program here at City SC. Our vision is to inspire a lifelong passion for soccer in every player, and having great coaches like Nick and Jake working with the boys every day goes a long way to achieving this. We are all excited to see how these young boys develop in the coming years!”
