LA Galaxy San Diego Continues Commitment to Serving Youth Players in the Community Through Financial Aid Program
Being a part of LA Galaxy San Diego is about so much more than just soccer, and November is always a time when we are reminded of what the club is all about. As we wrap up the competitive and recreational league seasons we reflect on the season and the many things we are thankful for—new friendships forged, lasting memories made, team successes shared and lessons learned both on and off the soccer field.
Many families and players could not experience the opportunities the club has to offer without our commitment to financial aid. This season LA Galaxy San Diego granted $180,000 dollars in financial assistance to competitive and recreational players, the most ever in club history. The need is greater than ever and LA Galaxy San Diego are committed to help.
“Our goal is to make soccer accessible to every child in our community,” said LAGSD president Skye O’Grady. “Every family that applies before the deadline and meets the financial aid requirements is granted assistance.”
As the club has grown over the years, the financial aid program has grown exponentially, providing assistance to more and more families each season as well as helping more kids realize their fullest potential on the soccer field.
“Our commitment to financial aid has always been a great source of pride for our club,” said LAGSD Director of Coaching, Michael Duggan. “We are honored and thankful to be able to provide the best possible soccer experience to all children in our community, regardless of their financial situation.”
