Our Girls Academy program headed to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, from March 9-14, 2023 , to participate in The Girls Academy League (GA) Champions Cup Finals.

The event was a big success for our Girls Academy program, with a total of 16 wins in the competition from our participating teams. The girls played in front of top college programs, US Soccer Youth National Team scouts and competed against other top programs from across the US.

“The Champions Cup has become a major event for our girls academy teams at City SC,” said City SC Girls Academy Director, Jeff Hughes. “It brings together the top 16 clubs from the various Girls Academy League conferences across the US and hosts them at one location, for one special event, so that they can truly test themselves and play against each other.”

Hughes continued, “This year we finished with multiple top 7 team finishes in the competition. We are continuing to represent our program very well at these national events. We are extremely thankful and lucky to be a part of The Girls Academy League, which, continues to provide our players an incredible platform in which they can represent themselves, their teams and their respective clubs on the national stage.”

Hughes concluded, “We look forward to next season’s Champions Cup Finals event, in which we are hoping to further improve upon this season’s achievements. But, for now, our Girls Academy program is focused on finishing out our current season on a strong note.”
