City SC have been crowned Girls Academy Overall Club Champions, setting a new record with an amazing 79 points!
“Being crowned the GA Champions Cup ‘Club Champions’ is a fantastic achievement for City Soccer Club,” said City SC Director of Operations, Michael Duggan. “This is the biggest prize you can win in the Girls Academy League and for Jeff Hughes, our Girls Academy Director, itโs validation for all the hard work he has put in, as well as his coaching staff. For the players, itโs a great example that hard work and dedication always pays off. On behalf of myself and our Director of Girls, Carl Higham, we applaud everybody involved! As we always say here, “It takes a city to achieve great heights!””
Overall, City SC’s trip to the Champions Cup Finals in Bradenton, Florida, was a great success with all 6 teams making it to at least the quarterfinals of the competition. The 2009s & 2011s made it to the semis, and the 2012s fell just short in the Cup Final – all with over 300 college coaches and scouts in attendance!
