The City SC Girls Academy program teams had a very successful showcase event at the Silverlakes Complex in Norco, during the long weekend dates of November 30 to December 4, 2023.
All six City SC Academy teams not only participated in the event but either won their group or came runner up in the prestigious top ‘Champions Leagues’ bracket of the Girls Academy League Winter Showcase. This means that all six teams, from 2011-2006 will advance to the ‘Champions League’ Play Offs at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, from March 7-12, 2024.
The 2006, 2007 and 2008 City SC DPL teams were also invited to play in the GA Winter Showcase and certainly did the club proud, goin undefeated over all nine games.
“A massive congratulations to our players and staff on reaching the playoffs in Florida,” said Carl Higham, City SC Director of Girls. “Our GA teams had a really successful showcase and that is not only down to the hard work of the players but also to our dedicated staff, Jeff, Brett, Ellis, Aaron and Evann. We’re looking forward to seeing how they get on in Florida come March. Also, our DPL 2006, 2007 and 2008 teams deserve a big shoutout for being invited up to play in the GA Winter Showcase as well. It was a fantastic experience for the teams getting to go up against such a high level of competition.”
