For the past 45 years, soccer has been a major part of my life. I have been involved as a player, coach, referee and/or fan as long as I can remember. After my playing career, I spent 25 years in the insurance industry in positions of team leadership but I always knew I would return to teach the game I love. My pathway back to the game began in a volunteer role in the recreational program and now working with the competitive program.
My ultimate goal is to help develop great players and people through communication and engagement in the learning process. My business experience in leadership and training has been the foundation through which I teach the game.
I believe it is important to create an environment of trust and inclusiveness within a team. I promote sportsmanship and respect for the game through example. My feedback style is positive and personalized and I believe hard work leads to success, but it should always be fun!
On the player development side, I strive to connect with every individual player. This is achieved through consistency, individualized feedback and development plans. Where possible, I bring the family unit into the training and learning. I strive to help mold knowledgeable performers who will have a lifelong passion for the game. I realize that a lot of trust is placed in me by the club, athletes, and parents and I am honored to be in this important role.
