The City SC MLS Next program had a very successful week at the MLS NEXT Winter Fest in Phoenix, Arizona. The event ran from Tuesday, December 5, until Sunday, December 10, and our U15, U16, U17, & U19 Boys Academy teams all travelled out to Arizona to compete with top academies from across the country.
Our teams excelled at the event with all teams finishing within the top two of their respective groups. The strong City SC performances were eagerly watched with over 100 college coaches in attendance of our games. City also had five players that played in the BEST OF BEST games for the Western Conference teams; Blake Haseyama (U19), Ben Redfield (U19), Oliver Kurnik (U17), Gabe Pulangas (U16) and Vratesh Pandey (U15), as well as having two of our coaching staff coach the Best of Best game for the U19’s Western Conference team; Coach Paul Ritchie and Coach Sean Gurley.
“Once again MLS provided an incredible environment for the MLS Next Festival and it was a great opportunity and platform for our kids to showcase their skills,” commented City SC Boys Academy Director, Paul Ritchie. “Our teams performed to a high level and represented the club, their families and themselves with the highest standards. All players involved should be very proud of all the hard work and dedication they put into the event.”
