LA Galaxy San Diego Technical Director, Steve Cowell commented, “Bringing in someone of Michael’s caliber shows our commitment to hiring the very best coaches in the San Diego area. Our players are incredibly fortunate to have someone like him working directly with them in their day to day environment.”

Under the guidance of Academy Director and Pro License holder Paul Ritchie, the LAGSD Boys Development Academy has expanded in both size and quality of the past three years, and Ritchie in particular is looking forward to working with Coach Ndoumbe as the program continues to grow; “Michael is someone who shares our vision of elite player development, believing in the process, and commitment to doing things the right way. Once we knew it was a possibility to bring in such a high caliber of coach we had to make sure we did everything possible to make it happen,” said LAGSD Director of Boys, Glenn Malone. “Michael is a top level addition to our growing Boys Academy program and we are excited that the players will benefit greatly from his experience and knowledge of the game.”

Coach Ndoumbe commented, “I am excited to be a part of LA Galaxy San Diego’s growth within the Development Academy program and I am looking forward to helping the club achieve full time DA status, and become the most recognized club in the San Diego area.”

Ndoumbe continued, “Being involved in the DA program for the last 8 years as a scout and coach in the National Team set up, I have a good understanding of the expectations of US Soccer as it relates to elite player development, and I look forward to applying this information on a daily basis at the DA level. With my experience from being a National Staff Instructor since 2005, I look forward bringing my experience to help mentor coaches within the club. The club has a good set up as far as facilities, coaching education and player development, and I look forward to adding my passion, experience and dedication to this program.”
