Niko in his Chile jersey

Niko Pino is a standout example of City SC’s commitment to nurturing talent from a young age. Nico was a player on one of our first USSF Academy teams and then later progressed to our MLS NEXT platform, always displaying an incredible work ethic and passion for soccer.

Recently, Niko made the bold move to Chile, the country of his family’s origin, and has continued to shine on the soccer field. He has been called up to the Chilean U18 National roster, a testament to his ever-growing skills and leadership on the field. To further this impressive feat, this season Niko will be playing for the U18 team of Universidad Católica, one of the top three first-division teams in Chile. Impressively, he serves as captain of the team, showcasing his leadership qualities.

Also, just last month, Niko’s talents were further recognized when he was called up to train with the adult Chilean national team as they prepared for the World Cup.

“We’re incredibly proud of Nico. During his time at the club his determination and dedication were evident every step of the way,” commented City SC Director of Boys, Glenn Malone. “We’ve been following his journey closely and look forward to seeing what he’ll achieve next. The sky is the limit for this young man!”
