The City SC Carlsbad Recreational Program is the foundation of City SC, serving over 4000 recreational players within Carlsbad & the North County area. City SC Carlsbad is dedicated to providing a fun, safe and community based program. It is our mission to offer a program where players have the opportunity to technically improve while having fun and building a love of the game, as well as providing unlimited growth opportunities for players of all skill levels and potentially acting as a stepping stone into the competitive program. The City SC Carlsbad Recreational Program is overseen by the Director of Recreation, Gregg Cacioppo, and the Assistant Director of Recreation, Adam Martin.
If you are looking for a place to play then look no further. City SC Carlsbad has the experience, knowledge and resources to fulfill every soccer players’ needs.
City SC Carlsbad runs three recreational seasons in the calendar year. First of which is the 6 week Winter League, followed shortly after by our 6 week Spring League, finally followed by our widely popular Fall Recreation League which runs from August – November. Fall registration ends in June and this league fills up quickly so be sure to sign up right away.

Fall Season
Soccer season is almost here, and we are fired up to announce that Fall 2026 Registration is officially OPEN!
Fall Soccer Program Info
Our Fall Recreational Program is built for families who want a fun, organized, and development-focused soccer experience. In the Fall, our teams are led by dedicated volunteer coaches who are:

- ✅ Trained by City SC professional staff
- ✅ Provided with an age-specific curriculum
- ✅ Equipped with the proper gear and resources to be successful
We set our coaches up to thrive so your players can too.
Each team will have one practice per week and games on Saturdays, creating the perfect balance of development, competition, and family time. Our focus is simple: build skills, build confidence, and build a lifelong love for the game – all in a positive, community-driven environment.
Registration Fee Schedule:
Early Bird: March 2 – March 15 (U5-U7 $250, U8-U19 $275)
Regular Registration: March 16 – May 31 (U5-U7 $275, U8-U19 $315)
Last Chance Registration: June 1 – June 28 (U5-U7 $300, U8-U19 $330)
Registration Closes: June 28, 2026 – Don’t miss out! Once registration closes, we only accept players where space is available.
Divisions do fill up quickly. If a division fills, you will automatically be added to a waitlist.

Our recreational program is for everyone! We welcome players ages 3-18, and all levels are encouraged to join. Our focus is on skill development, teamwork, and fun in a well-organized, community-driven environment.

- U5 (4v4): August 1, 2021 – July 31, 2022
- U7 (4v4): August 1, 2019 – July 31, 2021
- U8 (5v5): August 1, 2018 – July 31, 2019
- U10 (7v7): August 1, 2016 – July 31, 2018
- U12 (9v9): August 1, 2014 – July 31, 2016
- U14 (11v11): August 1, 2012 – July 31, 2014
- U16 (11v11):August 1, 2010 – July 31, 2012
- U19 (11v11): August 1, 2007 – July 31, 2009
U16 and U19 teams compete in the SoCal Super Rec League, which schedules games on Saturdays or Sundays.

Important Registration Details
⚽ All registration is online
⚽ Waitlist: After June 28, players will be placed on a waitlist and added only if space is available. Buddy/team requests are not guaranteed for waitlisted players.
⚽ Season Dates: August 17 – November 14, 2026
⚽ Buddy Requests:
- One reciprocal buddy request per player (must be in the same division)
- Requests must be entered at the time of registration – NO email requests accepted

Play Up Request & Cancellation Policy
- If you’d like your child to play up an age group, CLICK HERE to fill out a request form (not all requests will be approved)
- Refunds will only be given if:
- A player suffers an injury before the first game (doctor’s note required)
- We are unable to place a player due to a lack of available teams

Winter League
2026 Winter League Registration is NOW OPEN!
City SC Carlsbad Recreation offers two very unique Winter Soccer Programs for children in our community. Each program runs 6 weeks and only meets on Saturdays. Please see below for more information on each program.
4v4 Winter League Jamboree (Birth Years: August 1, 2018 – July 31, 2022)
Our Winter Jamboree is geared for children aged 3-7 years old. The goal for this program is all about development and learning the skills needed to play in a full season of soccer. This is a great environment as an introduction to the sport and/or for the experienced player looking to get some great coaching from our professional coaching staff. Each week there will be a new focus and each child will get hundreds of touches on the ball in just an hour session. Our professional staff will teach our future stars some new skills and proper soccer technique with creative and fun games and drills. Every session will end in a small sided game where parents can cheer on their favorite little soccer stars!
AGES: Boys & Girls aged 3-7 (Birth Years: August 1, 2018 – July 31, 2022)
DATES: Saturdays, Feb 7-Mar 14, 2026
TIMES (subject to change):
- Boys & Girls (August 1, 2020 – July 31, 2022): 9:00-10:00am
- Boys (August 1, 2018 – July 31, 2020): 10:15-11:15am

7v7 Winter League Pick Up (Birth Years: August 1, 2012 – July 31, 2018)
Our Winter 7v7 League is a great way for our recreation players to stay in soccer shape while still having time for other Winter/Spring Activities. All sessions are run on Saturdays only with a 30 min practice before each game. Teams will be run by a volunteer coach and play other teams in the league in a 7v7 format so each player gets maximum touches on the ball during each game.
AGES: Boys & Girls 8-13 (Birth Years: August 1, 2012 – July 31, 2018)
DATES: Saturdays, Feb 7-Mar 14, 2026
TIMES:
- Girls U10 (August 1, 2016 – July 31, 2018): 8:30AM-10:00AM
