On Sunday, November 10, 2024, our City SC UPSL Men’s team beat Sporting SD 4-0 (David Sierra (3), Jeroen Meefout) to become league champions of the SoCal South Conference of the UPSL Premier Division. Having played a total of 10 games, the City SC men won 8 games and only lost 2, totaling 21 points. San Diego Internacional FC and East Lake Soccer FC also totaled 21 points but City SC’s superior goal difference earned them the title. Along with the prestige of being champions, our Mens team also get a first-round bye in the playoffs.

“With the league title at stake, the boys put in a top performance against a very well-organized team and it was a great way to finish off the regular season,” commented City SC UPSL Men’s Head Coach, Aidan Cooper. “Our focus now shifts to playoffs which are coming up fast in just a couple of weeks. We could not be more excited to keep this momentum going!”

City SC Director of Boys, Glenn Malone, commented, “Securing first place in the UPSL league is a fantastic accomplishment for our team and reflects all the hard work everyone has put in throughout the season, as well as the progress made in the three seasons since the project started. This top spot and the first-round bye is exactly what we set out to achieve, and I couldn’t be prouder of the group. We’re looking forward to building on this momentum as we enter the business side of the season, playoffs. I’d like to give a special mention to David Sierra, who’s been outstanding up top for us, finishing as the league’s top scorer with 15 goals in 8 games.”
