City SC USL 2 Men's Soccer Team
The elite pre-professional tier in North American soccer, USL League Two (formerly the PDL) features over 120 franchises in four conferences throughout the U.S. and Canada. The league has proven to be a vital stepping-stone for top professionals now playing throughout the world, with over 70 percent of all selections in the MLS SuperDraft since 2010, and we are very excited to announce that City SC will be participating in USL League Two in 2025!
The USL League Two is the leading pre-professional soccer league in North America. Its goal is to provide the highest level of competition to those pursuing playing professional soccer both domestically and internationally. It also gives a platform for young players to compete while maintaining college eligibility and is a proven platform for players to develop and progress to become professionals.
City CS Director of Boys, Glenn Malone, commented, “We are thrilled to announce that City SC has been awarded a USL League Two franchise. This is an incredible milestone for our club and a testament to the foundation we’ve built together. Adding USL League Two to our pathway will give our players the opportunity to compete at one of the highest amateur levels in the country, showcasing their talent and continuing their development toward the professional ranks. We are excited to bring this elite level of soccer to our community and look forward to building on the strong legacy of City SC.”

More Info on USL League Two
The U20 USL A League enables a pre-professional environment for collegiate-level players and aspiring young professional soccer players. Our City SC USL Academy Men’s Soccer Team is the only San Diego based team that will participate in this prestigious USL Academy League. The U20 team will train in Carlsbad and play home games locally on our state of the art turf fields. The team will largely be comprised of younger City SC coaching staff, collegiate players, City SC players and local youth players in the North County and San Diego region. The upcoming USL Academy league season will run from May to September and include 10 league games, with weekly high-level training sessions between games.
