City SC’s Girls Academy Director & Head Coach, Jeff Hughes, has been named the ‘Girls Academy League Male Coach of the Year’ for his outstanding leadership and results with City SC’s Girls Academy program.
Under Jeff’s direction, all six City SC Academy age groups advanced to the Girls Academy 2025-26 National Playoffs and as Head Coach of the U14, U16, and U19 GA White teams, he guided each squad to Southwest Conference Championship titles.
Club-wide, Jeff oversaw exceptional performance, with City SC not only excelling in the Southwest Conference but the club also placed third overall in the Club Championship standings, highlighted by the U16 team winning the prestigious Champions Cup Title. Jeff also played a pivotal role in the club’s college placement efforts, helping 17 members of the Class of 2026 secure commitments to NCAA Division I and Division II programs.
On the international stage, Jeff represented the Girls Academy at the Generation adidas Cup in both years of the event. He notably led Team Red to the 2025 Girls Division Championship in the tournament’s inaugural year.
“We are all very proud of Jeff and his staff for this great accomplishment,” commented Michael Duggan, City SC Director of Soccer Operations. “This award is proof that hard work and dedication pay off. It’s a great honor for Jeff and for City SC!”
Congratulations Jeff on this well-deserved recognition. Everyone at City SC is very proud!
