Now a yearly club fundraising effort, again this Movember, our City SC coaches teamed up to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health by attempting to grow ridiculous looking handlebar moustaches or taking up the ‘Move for Movember’ (walk/run/other 60+ miles) challenge in return for sponsorship/donations towards men’s health.

In total, our team of dedicated fundraisers managed to raise a very impressive $4,484. Over the past nine years our City SC Movember team has raised $49,727 for Movember and Men’s Health. What an incredible achievement.

2023 Team Highlights: Coach Adam Martin (who we’re told started growing his moustache last summer after being inspired by the movie Tombstone) ran the most with 120 miles. Coach Paul Ritchie did the furthest distance with a walking/cycling combo of just over 200 miles. Club Director, Glenn Malone, raised the most, with a stellar $1,112.

The team would like to thank everyone that donated. All in all, it was a valiant effort again. Well done team!

BACKGROUND
Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men. Movember is the leading global organization committed to changing the face of men’s health. They achieve this by challenging men/women to grow moustaches or ‘Move for Movember’ during Movember (the month formerly known as November) to spark conversation and raise funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems.
