PLEASE NOTE: Entry Level Referee courses are posted and administered by CalSouth
Requirements:
- Need to register and pay your USSF fees – $80
- Complete all online course modules (modules must be completed prior to your field session)
- Register and attend a Field training session
City SC requires all new incoming referees be licensed at the new Grassroots level (starting with 2022 licenses).Upon completion of the course, you will become eligible to be assigned to affiliated games played under Cal South’s jurisdiction.

RECREATIONAL REFEREEING WITH CITY SC CARLSBAD
We primarily provide referees for our City SC Recreational program games but there are also some opportunities to referee competitive friendlies.
Below are a list of programs we supply referees for:
- Winter 7v7 Recreational League | 6 week season Feb-March
- Spring 7v7 Recreational League | 6 week season April-May
- Competitive Spring Friendlies with City SC | April-May
- Fall Recreational League | September-November
- City SC Rec All Star Tournament | December
How to register as a City SC Referee
Referees not already registered with the City SC recreational referee system may do so with the information below:

To join City SC, when prompted, you should use authorization code: DB2HA3DK
Once you have been added to referee schedule you will receive a welcome email from our Referee Assignor. You will be required to send various paperwork over before you can begin refereeing.
Please note: If you are a new referee, City SC requires you to be watched/mentored by one of our experienced mentor referees first. Referee assignor will arrange for this to happen prior to you refereeing in our league.
