City SC is proud to announce that two of our youth players, Luca Vendervelden and Sebastian Donnis, have been selected to join the San Diego FC Academy, taking a major step forward in their soccer journey. This achievement represents their hard work, consistency, and commitment to individual development, the same qualities that define the City SC player pathway.
The San Diego FC Academy provides one of the most advanced development environments in North America. Players receive access to world-class coaching, state-of-the-art facilities, and a fully funded experience that includes private education, professional support staff, and holistic resources to help them grow both on and off the field.
As part of the Right to Dream network, the San Diego FC Academy is built on a foundation that goes beyond soccer, it’s about developing whole individuals. Its core values of character, purpose, and passion empower players to chase their dreams while staying grounded in who they are and where they come from. Players are encouraged to think bigger than the game, to use their platform to lead, inspire, and give back to their communities.
City SC’s Director, Dan Jones shared, “We’re incredibly proud of Luca and Sebastian and what this moment represents. Our mission is to prepare players to be ready when opportunity arrives, through an environment that challenges them to think, learn, and grow every day. Seeing them take this next step validates everything we believe in as a club.”
